Patient/Family Education Tips for Health Care Professionals
We encourage you to
- Download and copy any fact sheets or patient education material to share with your patients
- Let patients and families know about the ATS patient education web pages
- Check out weblinks to other professional organizations that can provide additional information for your patients and your patient education efforts, including our Public Advisory Roundtable participating organizations
- Keep your patients and families informed and promote collaborative management in chronic disease
We have a growing menu of high quality patient education resources developed for ATS by members who are specialists in their fields. All patient education information posted directly on the ATS site has been reviewed by members of the Society and determined to be accurate and appropriate to offer. Information will be updated every 2 years or sooner if needed.
We will continue to expand the number and type of education materials offered. We are interested in offering materials in a range of literacy levels, languages, and topics. We include information about diagnosis, tests, treatment and prevention.
We want to help educate patients and families so they will be able to ask questions and actively participate in their care.
